So Sinatra! Emma leads Docklands Sinfonia July 18th 2014

Friday 18th July 7:30pm
St Anne's, Limehouse, London E14 7HP

Docklands Sinfonia, with Emma Blanco leading, presents an evening of Frank Sinatra music starring Frank Cognoscenti, who has been enthralling audiences with his amazingly close interpretation of Frank Sinatra since 2002.

In that time, he has performed his So Sinatra show at thousands of high profile events all over the world in venues including Hampton Court, the Chelsea Flower shows, Wentworth ‘Lunch for life’, Dorchester Penthouse and Ballroom, The Grosvenor, Savoy, Landmark and Ritz-Carlton Dubai.

Frank is possibly the most complete of all the Impersonators in the 'Sinatra' field and one of the few solely dedicated 100% to performances as Sinatra. The Sound is so close and the delivery so effortless that he is constantly accused of miming.

As well as legendary Sinatra hits such as 'My Way', the concert will include some of the singer's lesser-known orchestral arrangements. Audience will also be treated to a performance of Leonard Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story and a selection of movements from Shostakovich's Jazz Suite No.2.

Tickets are expected to sell fast for this event, so please book in advance from the Docklands Sinfonia box office.

Emma leads Docklands Sinfonia in concert with Hackney Borough Youth Orchestra

For the first time ever, children from Hackney Borough Youth Orchestra came in to rehearse and perform with Docklands Sinfonia in a side-by-side scheme which everyone involved in hopes to see repeated as soon as possible! The programme included Marquez's Danzon No.2 made so famous by the Venezuelan youth orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar, a few years ago. Teenager Anoushka Sharp performed the world premiere of her own composition, Cello Concerto No.1 in E minor. The audience were blown away by her talents in playing and writing. All the children involved had a wonderful time - so many of the players who sat next to children from HBYO received enthusiastic and excited comments including how "amazing it was to sit in the middle of such a huge orchestra." The concert definitely raised the roof and we all look forward to doing it again soon.
